Itadakimasu

“Itadakimasu” is a Japanese phrase said before meals to express gratitude and respect for the food provided. It acknowledges the sacrifices made to cultivate, harvest, and prepare the meal, including the lives of animals and plants and the efforts of farmers and those cooking. This tradition underscores an appreciation for the nourishment provided and the interconnectedness of all those involved in bringing the meal to the table from nature.

Buen Provecho

“Buen Provecho” a Dominican phrase said before meals. Buen means good, with provecho meaning profit or benefit. Together, it conveys the heartfelt wish that the meal will be not only enjoyable but also beneficial for the person partaking in it. It's a way of saying, “May you benefit from this meal.”
